Coordinator’s Report 2009 – Southeastern Region
Focusing on the professed Mission of the AFCCPC, this report has used the elements of the Mission as the template for recounting the events and the aspirations in the Region.
Thus, Our Mission is revisited and restated to determine and facilitate the inclusion of events that are relevant to the Mission. This approach was also, and continues to be, a useful benchmark on whether or not we are moving towards the accomplishment of Our Mission or have I been just spinning my wheels and chasing my own Gospel tale.
Focusing on Our Mission has greatly enhanced my awareness of the overall and ultimate Great Commission (Mt 28) vis-à-vis our specific and Milepost stations.
Recognizing we still have ways to go we are then able to aspire for some needs to be filled in our journey in Faith e.g. catechesis, Scriptures (learning, living, and loving the Word), ecclesial engagement (individual, family, group, Parish, Diocesan levels); use of the different of the other and different gifts of the Holy Spirit.
“For the vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint; if it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late.” Habakkuk 2:3
Our Mission
To Serve, Unify and Build up Filipino Catholic Charismatic prayer groups and prayer communities,
A. Enable then to evangelize and proclaim effectively the Lordship and the Good News of Jesus Christ with the fire of the Holy Spirit,
B. Bring the renewal to the heart of the Church and to individuals through Baptism in the Holy Spirit;
C. Encourage the Charismatic Renewal by promoting national, regional, and local conferences;
D. To promote the teachings of the Catholic Church and its Magisterium;
E. To encourage believers to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to nurture the fruit of the Holy Spirit for the edification and sanctification of the Body of Christ;
F. Print, publish, purchase, sell, donate, or otherwise distribute Christian literature.
“A Regional Report consists mainly of a Report regarding the activities of the prayer groups or prayer communities in your region which directly or indirectly involve the AFCCPC or you in your capacity as AFCCPC Regional Coordinator/or VNC or Chairperson.”

Planning and Celebration of the Diocesan Charismatic Conference
April through November 2008
This Regional Coordinator being a Commissioner on the Diocesan (Venice, FL) Charismatic Commission was involved in the planning and celebrating this Conference in Port Charlotte on November 1st.
Two (2) leaders from the Couples for Christ (Gawad Kalinga Ministry) in Cape Coral (Bros. Juan Cordero and Jess Creus) lent their valuable assistance in this Charismatic Renewal endeavor. Approximately 600 of the faithful from both the English speaking prayer groups and Hispanic faith communities attended the Conference.
Bishop Frank Dewane of the Diocese of Venice in Florida celebrated the Holy Mass. Filipinos were very well represented among the prayer communities in the Central Deanery of the Diocese including Port Charlotte and Cape Coral.
Periodic Prayer Group Meetings
Year-round 2008 – 2009
Parish-based and independent prayer communities have been faithfully meeting for Praise and Worship weekly. Independent faith communities like Couples for Christ – Gawad Kalinga have additional Assemblies about quarterly or so. Leaders of parish-based prayer groups in the Central Deanery likewise meet, on the average, every six-weeks discussing matters pertinent to the Renewal Movement.
Bro. Al Albarracin, Editor of The Trumpet and a former alliance Director pitched in superbly for the then stricken Regional Coordinator/Commissioner at the February Central Area Leaders Meeting, placidly acronymed CALM.
Eight above communities and the prayer group from Ave Maria University have participated in two annual Central Area Prayer Meetings. These gatherings have been rather successful, promising, and encouraging so that the leaders have increased the frequency of such gathering during the year.
The second such meeting this year was held in March at St Andrew, one of the two parishes in Cape Coral. At the January 2009 Area-Wide Meeting, this Coordinator gave the teaching – “Hope for the Christian”

Receiving the Holy Spirit
Session 7 – Christian Life Seminar
CFC-FFL North Carolina – March 2009
Noemi and I were invited by our evangelistic kindred in their Weekend Praise and Worship. We mutually shared our experiences in our journey in Faith and growing in the Holy Spirit. We prayed for guidance and fortitude in reaching out to our brethren and spreading the Gospel. I moderated the Baptism in the Spirit session at the St Joseph’s Church in Kannapolis, near Charlotte.
Extraordinary Ministers

Extraordinary Ministers distribute Holy Eucharist to facility residents; and assist them at the celebration of the Holy Mass. Juan and Haydee Cordero of the CFC-Gawad Kalinga, Linda Dumlao, Ms. Mara of the Saint Andrew Prayer Group are the ones that readily come to mind. (My apologies for my limited memory in missing a host of other EMs)
I belong to the Saint Katharine Drexel group of EMs.

As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many are one body, so also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized in one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit….
… If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part is honored, all parts share its joy.”
1Corinthians 12:12-13; 26
